Horley Town u16A 7
The under 16A's knew they had a lucky escape last week after a poor performance almost cost them the league. The league leaders Feltham didn't take advantage of Town's draw only managing a draw themselves. Horley travelled to Molesey knowing they had to get 3 points to continue to push Feltham for top spot. Straight from the kick off Town took the game to Molesey playing the football they can, with all of the team playing the ball with confidence which soon had Molesey on the back foot. Robbie Newton opened the scoring after a well worked move. Town continued to attack and Sam Charles soon made it 2 after Newton had worked well with Rhys Brown down the right side sending over a low cross that Charles put away from 6 yards. It was now all Horley who well playing against the wind that should had helped Molesey, but with the back four of Pullin, Brewer, Sale and Hescott in great form Hope in the Town goal was having a quiet afternoon. Brown made it 3 after Hescott played a quality through ball which Brown put away. He made it 4 after the keeper fumbled a shot and he followed in to slot it into the net. The second half saw Town continue to dominate with the central midfield pair of Miller and Condon in total control. The fifth goal had the whole team celebrating as it was Dayne Alstrom' first for the team, he ran onto a through ball and volleyed the ball past the keeper from 12 yards. Molesey were now trying to do all possible to stop the score getting worse. Newton had other ideas and added another 2 goals to make it another hatrick, his second in 2 games. Town are now 1 point behind Feltham with an away game against them in March which could decide the title. If Horley continue to play as they did against Molesey they will push Feltham all the way to the title.

Horley Town had to contend with strong blustery winds in order to produce their best performance of the season.
Fighting against the wind Horley went in at half time one goal up when a cheeky lob outside of the box from Ross Cortazzi inched over the keeper.
Using the wind in the second half gave Horley a benefit; they took full advantage and by playing some excellent passing football took full control of the game.
Goals by Oli Hartley, Julian Groombridge and Jack Buckmaster gave Horley a well deserved 4-1 win.
Lad of the match: Ross Cortazzi.
